Description
The Little Giant 506858 6EC-CIA-RF 1/3 hp, 3180 GPH pump is ideal for use as a sump, light effluent or emergency water transfer pump. This pump can handle up to 1/2″ solids and has a 1.5″ FNPT discharge. The polypropylene base helps prevent rust stains on floors when used as an emergency water transfer pump. This pump comes with a long 115-volt 20' cord suitable for standard outlets in North American homes. The piggyback tethered switch activates the pump when the water level reaches 13″ to 15″ and shuts off when the water level drops to between 6″ and 8″. The piggyback plug on the switch allows the switch to be overridden for service or maintenance.
Features & Benefits:
– 1/3 horsepower PSC motor
– 1-1/2″ FNPT discharge
– 140 °F (60 °C) liquid temperature rating
Pump selection guidelines:
Application: effluent pumps can be used to transfer or remove clean water or liquid effluent with up to 1/2″ semi-solids. It is not designed to pass raw sewage.
Switch options (not all may be available):
– Tethered switches rise/drop with the depth of the water. They require a minimum basin size of 18″. The on/off levels can be adjusted easily.
– Diaphragm switches take up less room than a traditional tethered switch and uses water pressure to turn the pump on/off. A breather tube is located on the plug which must be free of debris for it to operate properly. The on/off levels cannot be adjusted.
– Snap-action switches take up less room that a traditional tethered switch. The float rises/lowers with the water level. The on/off level cannot be adjusted.
Piggyback vs. integral (built-in):
– A piggyback plug allows the switch to be overridden to pump below the off level. It is easily replaceable.
– An integral switch is built into the pump. An integral switch cannot be overridden so it is not the best choice for emergency water removal.
